I am seriously considering trading in my Xterra for a Ford Escape Hybrid. Now that I drive at least 80 miles daily in my commute to work, the gas mileage issue is more important. We would save over $150 in gas expenses per month, but my car payment would also go up about $150. When you factor in insurance, I'm not convinced the total monthly cost of the Ford is any less than the Xterra. But somehow, paying less at the pump just feels better. And going with an even more fuel efficient vehicle, such as a Prius or Camry (which actually costs more than an SUV!), is not really an option-we need the space of the SUV.

And who am I kidding, anyway. Once I drove the Ford around over the weekend, I was hooked.
