Adoption paperwork seems to be moving along quickly. Two weeks ago we received notification from the Department of Homeland Security that our petition to classify Andy as an immediate relative was approved and forwarded to South Korea. Today we received notice from the Visa section of the Department of State that all of our paperwork has been sent to S. Korea. The only thing left to do is wait for S. Korea to issue the Visa and passport. When this is near completion, we will have about 2-4 weeks notice before we can travel. Our adoption agency, Dillon International, is wonderful. They have made paperwork a breeze.
We are very anxious to travel for many reasons: we have never flown that far away, the situation in N. Korea is kinda tenuous, and most of all, we simply want Andy here ASAP. I need to compile a list of questions to ask our social worker, Kim, about what to bring. The weather is similar to Oklahoma, maybe a little milder. We are imposing self-limitations of one suitcase & one carry-on each. I am usually a light packer, but this may be difficult b/c of the gifts we want to bring with us. I can't wait to go!
